New Age Engineering was initially brought in to do code compliance review for the requirement of sprinkler heads in eleven laundry rooms on eleven different floors. It was previously recommended that a new fire pump be installed to provide a common riser and one sprinkler head in each laundry room. Our firm was able to obtain written approval from New York City to turn the existing standpipe into a combined standpipe/sprinkler system and provide the required sprinkler heads by gravity to each of the laundry rooms.
- Surveying the water tower and stand pipe system for a tap in point.
- Performing hydraulic calculationsto confirm that adequate pressure would be provided to each sprinkler head.
- Obtaining a New York City written acceptance of this scope of work.
- Engineering Drawings and Written Specifications.
- Pre-bid walkthrough, bid review, bid leveling and contract negotiation.
- NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) & Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) expediting services.
- Project administration, payment requisitions and oversight.
- Special & Progress inspections.
- Final Punchlist and Close outdocumentation.
